HistQuiz (“Μα, πόση ιστορία ξέρεις;” on Google Play) is a Greek history quiz app for Android, published by Brightbuzzer (“we”). This page explains what data the app handles and why. Contact: babis.amsterdam@gmail.com.

Data you give us

• Account: your email address and password (the password is stored only as a secure hash by our login provider), or your Google account email and name if you sign in with Google.
• Display name: the player name you choose. It is shown to other players on leaderboards and in duels.
• Feedback: any message you send through the in-app feedback form, and an email address if you choose to add one.

Data created while you play

• Quiz rounds, answers, scores, daily-challenge results, duel results and ratings. These power your statistics, the leaderboards and duels.
• If you allow notifications, a push-notification token for your device, used only to tell you about your duels.
• Your theme and sound preferences, stored only on your device.

Advertising

The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID), IP address and app-usage information to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice from the app’s menu (Ρυθμίσεις απορρήτου διαφημίσεων). Where data is stored and who processes it

• Supabase: our database and login provider, which stores your account and game data.
• Google: AdMob (ads), Google Sign-In and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications).

We do not sell your personal data. Data sent between the app and these services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Legal basis

We process account and game data to provide the app to you (performance of a contract), and advertising data on the basis of your consent where the law requires it.

How long we keep data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, rounds, statistics and notification tokens are deleted immediately. Finished duels against other players stay in their history, but show you as a deleted player. Feedback messages you sent are kept without any link to your account.

Deleting your account

In the app, open the menu and choose Διαγραφή δεδομένων (Delete data). You can also request deletion without the app. See Delete your HistQuiz account.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by writing to babis.amsterdam@gmail.com. If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in Greece, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority).

Children

HistQuiz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
